Thigh Lift

Fluctuations and loosening in the skin are among the situations that women feel the most discomfort. Again, the irregularities in the skin cause the formation of a saggy skin structure. However, as a result of not exercising and losing weight, a loosening occurs especially in the inner thighs. This is also a problem arising from old age. The procedure performed to eliminate these problems is called thigh lift.

Basically, inner thigh problems are not just an aesthetic problem. Because, after the loosening of the inner thighs, it is possible to experience discomfort due to friction while walking. Improving the loosening in the inner thigh area, which occurs due to the thin skin structure, brings with it a difficult process. It is known that many different methods and techniques can be applied at this point to solve the problem in question.

What is the Thigh Lift Method?

Thigh lift is among the first options that come to mind when it comes to removing the loosened and irregular skin structure in the inner parts of the thighs. Thigh lift refers to the procedures for removing excess skin and fat tissue in the thigh area. Thus, it is possible to eliminate the unpleasant features in the inner parts of the thighs.

Who is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed to?

There is a loosening in the upper and inner parts of the thighs, especially after the frequent cases of weight gain and loss. This situation brings with it skin sagginess. This is where the thigh surgery operation comes into play. Generally, thigh lift surgery is defined as an operation that is preferred to women over the age of 40. However, it is known that thigh surgery is also recommended against loosening at an early age. Thigh lift surgeries come into play in cases where there is both excess fat and excessive loosening of the skin.

How is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed?

Thigh lift operation can be performed in cases where the skin gap is too narrow or the skin excess is too much and deformities are experienced due to fattiness. It is possible to say that thigh lift surgery is performed in two different ways. If the patient’s skin excess level is very low, an excess of skin is removed so that a horizontal scar is left in the inner part of the groin. After this procedure, the skin is stretched and sutured.

However, in patients with excess skin and excess fat, the excess skin should be removed in a way that leaves a vertical scar. Because in patients with abundant skin, if a horizontal scar is left on the inner side, it is possible to experience problems such as deformation in the genitals, as there will be a shift towards the lower parts over time.

Will I have a problem after the surgery?

Since it is a frequently sweating area, conditions such as infection, wound dehiscence (opening of the wound) may occur in the early period. These conditions can be overcome with antibiotic therapy, dressing and local interventions. In the later period, swellings called ‘lymphocele’, in which body fluid accumulates in the size of a coin, may occur along the incision line in these patients. It may go away on its own with fluid intake, or it may need to be removed with a secondary intervention.

What is the size of the scar?

Depending on the excess skin, it may be limited only to the groin, or there may be scars extending from the groin area to the knee.
